Identify a potential research study

Here is a topic of my Discussion question:

The research problem can be developed from many sources. What is a source of nursing research? Identify a potential research study example from that source
Research is an essential part of nursing practice. When attempting to determine best practice, it could be difficult to obtain valid information, or it can be very time consuming. Evidence Based Nursing is a journal that can be used as an excellent source for nursing research, and it can save time for nurses that are not in the research field. It is published every quarter and the purpose is to select literature research studies and reviews to report important advances in nursing practice (EBP, n.d.). It was first created in 1998 and now it can be accessed online or the actual printed copy.

A very interesting research study sample from this source would be an article titled Alteplase for Ischemic Stroke: Increased Risk of Intracranial Hemorrhage is balanced by Stroke Outcomes, Particularly if Treated within 4 to 5 hours of Onset. We all understand that when it comes to a stroke, time is of the essence. The article focuses on improving the patient outcome after a stroke that develops from lack of blood flow in the brain. Thrombolytics given to appropriate patients within 4.5 hours of the onset of symptoms increases their chances of a better outcomes (Rudd, 2015). This article also discusses the risks of thrombolysis in comparison to the benefits of receiving the drug. As Rudd (2015) states, thrombolytics increase the risk of early death, but after a three to six month period, mortality rate equals the same of a patient that is untreated.
