Dealing with Professional Burnout

Dealing with Professional Burnout

As a professional who cares for other people, you might not realize that you have a professional burnout until this problem reaches its advanced stage. In relation to this fact, one needs to recognize his/her limits (Corey, & Corey, 2014). This paper identifies three ways that will be instrumental in my profession as I practice self-care and the way these strategies will prevent me from becoming a victim of burnout.Dealing with Professional Burnout

Strategies

The first strategy will be cognitive-related, and it will focus much of its attention on A-B-C theory. This strategy will help me to realize my cognitions so that I can understand the way I react to issues. In that process, the strategy will enable me to challenge self-defeating cognitions with an aim of developing thinking that is aimed at minimizing stressful moments in my life. The second strategy will be to stay alive at a personal level and at a professional level (Corey, & Corey, 2014). This means that I will acknowledge the fact that I may be limited in some areas as I provide care to other people; thus, I will not over-stretch my ability in whatever I do. The third strategy will be to strive for wellness in my life. I will achieve the goals of this strategy by taking care of all my needs without neglecting any of them. In order to do this, I will commit myself to a regular program of physical exercises and practicing self-care at a personal level. In addition, I will seek support from my peers and other people around me.Dealing with Professional Burnout
