What are the risk factors for poor outcomes, particularly for children experiencing marginalization

This assignment is set out as a Skeleton Policy Brief (i.e., the bones of a Policy Brief). We have provided an example skeleton brief on cloud Deakin (under ‘assessment’ and then ‘skeleton policy brief’) Note that strict word limits are imposed. In this assignment, it is acceptable to use secondary sources, that is, sources that are not the original empirical studies that reported the findings (including readings from your core reading list). Your brief should have the following sections: 1. Overview a) What proportion of children face marginalization? b) What are some of the negative outcomes on well being for children who face marginalization? 2. Risk Factors What are the risk factors for poor outcomes, particularly for children experiencing marginalization? 3. Conceptualizing the problem Conceptualize the problem of childhood adversity related to marginalization from the perspective of emotional & cognitive development. Use the knowledge you have gained from the core readings, and apply it to the problem at hand. 4.Emotional development (250 words): Briefly define the four attachment styles and factors that influence attachment security. Link one of the attachment styles to one of the risk factors identified in question 2. Briefly explain how the attachment style you have chosen might increase or decrease children’s ability to cope with being marginalized. 5.Cognitive development (250 words): Use Piaget’s stages of cognitive development to conceptualise why children of different ages (e.g., children in grades 4/6 (aged 10-12 years) versus grade 8 (aged 14 years) in the report) might have a different response to questions about well-being. It may be helpful to refer to specific figures reflecting children’s responses, and your answer can include marginalized and non-marginalized children
