The nervous system regulates these activities by communication between various nerve cells by controlling the actions of skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscle, it also stimulates the secretion of products from various glands of the body (Lovinger, 2008). The disadvantages of the nervous system include the effects that can be caused in the event of a disease or injury in the cells of the nervous system, especially within the brain.
