Each member will create a simple presentation to illustrate and describe one professional organization of current primary interest. For example, my primary organization my be the American Geophysical Union and my secondary organization may be The American Mathematical Society. I would create a poster presentation for the American Geophysical Union.

Because the purpose of this assignment is to give you an opportunity to dig into your professional aspirations, what matters most is what you find to be most helpful, important, and enlightening.

There is a list of possible (and optional) questions attached to this assignment that you may use if you “get stuck”.

You may discover that you find the organization and/or the profession to not be what you expected. That’s okay to write about too because this is about what you find.

Finally, a specific requirement I will look for is a biographical sketch of a member of the organization. What do you find interesting about this person? Did you interview them for this assignment? if so, you could include the interview format within the poster. What else does this person do? We all have many roles within society – what else does this person do? You may find some surprises.

How will you acknowledge your contributors and references in the poster? Did you really use citations to the references? I hope so!
