  1. This project will illustrate the significance and improvement of public awareness about mental illnesses through collaboration
    1. Rationale: The study by Abi Doumit et al (2019) demonstrated that attitude and knowledge had a direct correlation with behaviors towards people with mental illnesses. Familiarity with a close person with a mental illness was associated with higher knowledge of the mental illness, less discriminating attitudes, and higher favorable behaviors. This implies that creating public awareness about mental illnesses through collective action such as making crafts/t-shirts will improve knowledge about mental illnesses, reduce discriminating attitudes, and promote favorable behaviors.
    2. Autonomy: This project will support patient autonomy by incorporating them in design public campaign messages to print on t-shirts, and working closely with those who are talented to make and sell crafts to the public as a way of creating public awareness.
    3. Social justice: This project provides a platform and an opportunity for people with mental illness to interact with those who do not have mental illnesses by participating in different activities to promote socialization and interactions. This interaction will help to debunk and correct misinformation and other contradicting negative beliefs and attitudes (Abi Doumit et al., 2019).Benchmark Capstone Change Project Objectives Essay
