Impact on the potential applicability of the SRR findings based on research design rigor and level of evidence. For example, “The rigor of the research designs and the level of evidence included in this SRR provide strong (or moderate or weak) support for the potential applicability of the findings to clinical practice.”

The key thing in these two sections is to be sure you state each of the following in your paragraphs:
1) study design (e.g. descriptive, randomized controlled trial, etc),

2) Level of evidence (e.g. Level I, II, III, IV, V, VI or VII) using Table 5.2 on page 92 of the e-textbook). Please remember that Level 1 is at the top of the hierarchy representing systematic research reviews.

3) Critique of the design. For example, “randomized controlled trials are considered to be the strongest research design for evaluating the effect of an intervention (citation)”

4) Critique of the Level of Evidence used. For example, “the systematic research review authors used only Level II evidence which strengthens the reliability of the findings.”

5) Impact on the potential applicability of the SRR findings based on research design rigor and level of evidence. For example, “The rigor of the research designs and the level of evidence included in this SRR provide strong (or moderate or weak) support for the potential applicability of the findings to clinical practice.”

In other words be sure to state and critique the research designs included in the SRR; state and critique the levels of evidence in the SRR; and state the impact of the designs and level of evidence on the applicability of the SRR findings.

The rubric element on clarity refers to your assessment of how clearly the systematic review is presented. For example, “The systematic research review is generally presented in a clear manner except the section on ______which was somewhat difficult to interpret.”
