The health care setting is increasingly adopting the usage of health care informatics to store, manipulate, and leverage data in order to improve patient outcomes. This has made it paramount to have informatics personnel with the right technical competence. According to Hussey and Kennedy (2016), technical competence refers to the behaviors that are directly associated to the nature of training as well as technical proficiency necessary to exercise effective control. As a nurse informatics manager, I will need to hire people whose competency on informatics requires that an alignment exists between their skillset and competencies necessary to discharge, in a safe and effective manner, the informatics tasks at the facility, Thus, in order to get such a match, I am going to consider certain skillset in new hires.

Moreover, the facility has also been exemplary in its application of varied programming languages. However, efforts need to be made to improve its proficiency in project management as the particular area has revealed certain ineffectiveness. Further, the facility also needs to train the personnel on their problem-solving competencies to ensure optimum utilization of health care informatics.
