Annual Report

This question involves locating an annual financial report for a selected organization such as a health care organization or corporation, including insurers. Health care entities’ annual reports are often readily available on the Internet – go to the organization’s website and look for a place to click that is “for investors” or “finance” – you can choose any organization; it does not need to be the one where you are employed. Sometimes your workplace will have an annual report readily available for any interested party.

Your task for this question is to review the remarks from the Chairman of the Board about the year in review. What we are looking for in this discussion question is to see what information is being shared about the financial health of the organization and what challenges lie ahead. Usually there are remarks of this nature in the Annual Report.

If you are unfamiliar Annual Reports or how to find them, don’t worry. You can search the organization’s website or Google “health care annual reports” to find reports you can use for this class.
