The purpose of this qualitative case study is to explore the benefits and disadvantages of using shadow IT as perceived by top managers of a Boeing Company in Chicago, United States. The purpose is to bridge the current research [A1] gap in the literature which does not cover the effectiveness of shadow IT, the potential benefits and risks in organizations.
