Rivers, J. K. (2013). How to review a manuscript. Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery, 17(4), 219-223.

By this point, you should have a complete outline for your manuscript, have revised and/or added to your literature review, and be reviewing the methodology you are using. Over the next few weeks, you will continue to write and revise your manuscript to get it ready for publication. The final draft of your manuscript will be due in Unit 8.

You should be focusing on the type of methodology that would be appropriate for your manuscript. This would include such considerations as:

How would you collect the data?

Would you be using any particular tools?

How are you going to gather your data?

How will you disseminate your information to your target population?

How will you ensure confidentiality and/or anonymity?

How are you going to protect the data you gather?

please put in APA formatting with journal reference no older than 5 years old.

I’ve attached my work thus far to add and build around in this assignment.

Target audience

The featured topic for this discussion is “Reducing the Rate of CVC Infection in the Outpatient Setting of Hemodialysis.” Selecting the right target audience for a manuscript to a journal for the purposes of publication should be among the basic considerations that an author makes. Preparing a manuscript is a demanding process that often consumes a lot of time, energy, commitment, and funds in the course of research. No one would want their efforts to be in vain, which could often occur when the resultant article or the manuscript itself lacks relevance and application to the society. Nephrology Nursing Journal (NNJ) has been selected as the best choice for submitting the manuscript.

The target audience for the selected topic is the nurses in the practice and the learning fields. Notably, nursing practice is one of the many fields that require continuous learning due to the constantly changing needs of the patients and treatment methods that arise through the availability of new research in the field. Failure of the nurses to acquaint them with the latest technology, practices, and methods often mark the beginning of their failure and the failure of the healthcare industry. The competence of nurses in the healthcare industry has had a significant effect and particularly due to their close association of quality. In this regard, recent research has suggested that, since nurses spend the most time with the patients and offer the largest number of services, incompetence among them could easily cripple the quality of care (Izumi, 2015; Shahrokhi, Ebrahimpour & Ghodousi, 2016). Nurses are also tasked with guiding patients on what they should do or not do in order to remain healthy. In the course of developing the content for the selected topic, it was identified that reducing the rate of CVC infection should target the education of nurses and particularly on the benefits of adhering to best practices and maintaining hygiene. As such, it will be of great importance to target this group so as to achieve success in all facets of healthcare.

NNJ targets both nurses in practice and learning institutions as well through its cheap subscription programs. In this case, the American Nephrology Nurses Association (2018) – the publisher of the journal – reports in its purpose statement that the journal targets to facilitate the practice of professional nephrology nursing while at the same time meeting the educational information needs of nephrology nurses. This means that the journal only publishes content that is relevant and meaningful to the learners and nurses in practice that specialize in nephrology in a way that positively influences their quality of care.

You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.

Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.

Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.

The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.
