Assignment: Continuing Nursing Education Related to ANA Code of Ethics

The main obligation of nurses is to promote patient safety and health. For this to be effectively achieved, nurses require adequate and up to date knowledge and skills to enhance patient health outcome. As such, continuous education is mandatory for all nurses. Nursing education is a lifelong learning process as all nurses are required to maintain and increase their competence in nursing practice. Consequently, patient care is a dynamic field which requires up to date information in order to be able to meet the demands of the diverse patient population. New interventions are being developed through evidence-based practice (Hendrickx, & Winters, 2017). Through continuous education, nurses will be able to learn about the most effective intervention for different health concerns and how to implement them so as to enhance the quality of care provided, promoting patients’ health.
