In this knowledge era, there is an increasing consumer demand for healthcare information and abundant online resources readily available to anyone with access to the internet. But is all online information created equally? This activity will explore the process for evaluating online resources for use in consumer education.

1.Identify a consumer health education topic for your client population. Find one credible online resource and one suspect online resource directed at the general public on this topic. Include these two resources in your post.

2.Evaluate each site based on the information made available there using criteria from the resources provided in this module (Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, and Purpose). The evaluations need to be inclusive of health literacy levels, culture, and linguistic appropriateness for the populations being served.

3.Answer and justify your response to the question “Would you recommend this site to others?”

4.What types of online or mobile tools are your clients using to manage their health?
