Balancing School and Life – My Quality of Life Self-Care Plan. The purpose of developing this Plan is to set a framework and a plan to maintain wellness and to stay motivated and engaged throughout your Program. Doing this will help you achieve success during your coursework and as a professional nurse.
The goal of the Project is to help you become self-aware and reflective as a means of identifying personal self-care strategies that will increase your energy and help you manage your stress. The Project will give you a chance to learn how this is accomplished as you will be doing similar work with clients during the Program and as a professional nurse to assist them in the same way.
Share in a 2 page paper, the following:

Think about your current levels of tension and stress. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest level, what is your score? Now think about the strategies you identified. Describe how well you have put them into action. If you have not been able to implement them, identify why and what you can do to overcome this. How Am I Doing?
My current scores on the “Quality of life self-care wheel” stand at 7. This is a 2 point change from the last time I evaluated my scores at 5. Although this score is short of my target of 9, I believe that I am moving in the right direction with regards to balancing my school and social life as well as managing my tension and stress levels. In fact, I have now developed a better understanding of myself as an individual, particularly the aspects of who I am that include social, spiritual, emotional, occupational, intellectual, and physical wellness features. Firstly, I have improved my social wellness by respecting my public interactions and relationships, and putting in effort to get along with the people in my environment. This actions have allowed me to establish peace and harmony in my life even as I improve my spiritual wellness. Thirdly, I have improved my emotional wellness by keeping in touch with my emotions through expressing them. Previously, I considered expressing negative emotions as a sign of weakness. Currently, I understand the link between emotions and stress, and am keen on expressing all emotions as a strategy for coping with life challenges.
Fourthly, I have improved my occupational wellness by finding fulfillment in my nursing career and understanding that it has meaning since it will improve the lives of other members of the public. Additionally, I have established a better balance between my leisure and school time so that I am able complete all school activities on time. Fifthly, I have improved my intellectual wellness through answering my curiosity, engaging in creative activities, and critically thinking about any problems I face. In fact, I now understand that learning is a lifelong endeavor and no individual is ever truly all-knowing such that every person in my environment can be a source of knowledge. As such, I have been more open to new ideas and experiences with the intention of undergoing intellectual growth. Finally, I have improved my physical wellness through healthy habits, nutritional diets and engaging in regular exercise programs. I have become more critical of my overall health and more proactive in achieving a healthy quality of life. In fact, this is perhaps the aspect I have experienced the most improvement in since I have taken charge of my health and made a conscious decision to be healthy.
