The various online self-assessments tests can provide insight to your own personal traits and interests to help complete a personal SWOT which has numerous benefits. Completing these online surveys will also assist in identifying personality and career traits that will help direct an individual to a professional career that aligns with their own strengths and interests. These self-assessments will ultimately give an individual insight to possible career opportunities that match with personal characteristics and interests.

This video will provide an oversight of two recommendations to free online self-assessment surveys, but you are allowed to research and utilize any online self-assessment survey as you desire. Please note that there will be free online surveys and ones that will be associated with a fee. DO NOT PAY TO TAKE ANY OF THEM. You are NOT required to pay for any of the self-assessment survey tests- only utilize the free ones that are offered. It is encouraged you take multiple tests that cover a variety of topics on self-assessment to get a good overview of your personality and career traits. The more effort and honesty you place into these online self-assessments, the more you will get out of them. Some of the data and insight gained from these surveys can really shift your perspective and assist in making you a better student and individual overall : ) The next few slides will demonstrate how to access and utilize two websites that provide free online self-assessment survey tests that you can use. These are just recommendations- again, you can use any free online self-assessment tests you desire.

The first recommended website is called Truity and its website address is: www.truity.com. I will now open this website and demonstrate how to access the online tests.

 

Once you get to the site, it is recommended to create a free account. This is not required, but creating a free account will store your test results to review at later times. To access the online self-assessment tests- click on the PERSONALITY TESTS in the menu bar. You will see four categories of personality tests: Personality Type, Career Tests, Big Five, Strengths, Behavior, and More. Each category of the Personality Tests will contain multiple tests within that category- including ones that associated with a fee and free ones. Again, do not take any online test that has a fee associated with it. You are not required to take all of the online tests, but again the more effort you place into this research, the more useful information and data you will get out of this assignment.

 

As you click on each category of the personality tests, it will open up a webpage with the various tests under that category.
