Performance Objective:

· Describe the use of technology and informatics research in nursing.

· Read the work of each student in your group. Separate the papers into groups related to how well the student’s research answers the questions, and grade accordingly.

· Use critical thinking and lack of bias to professionally evaluate each other’s work.

Rubric: Use this Review Example to guide the assignment.

Group Review of Research Question 1 Writer: Susie Smith

Date: ________________________ Reviewer: Jay Leno

The group leader will staple each student’s graded forms together, total (add) the scores from each of the group members for that student, divide by the number of group members, and put the total scores at the top of the front page on the left-hand corner. For example, if there are five group members and their scores for this student are 3, 3.5, 3.25, 4.0, and 3.2, the total is 16.3. Divide 16.3 by the number of people in the group (5) to get a score (16.3/5 = 3.39).

Do this for both research papers in class and give to the instructor for inputting into the gradebook.

Research Questions

Grade: These two research questions are worth 20% of your grade, 10% for each one. The questions are assigned into two parts. The first question is due Week 3 and the second, Week 4. Do not include the Rubric on this assignment.

After submission, your group will evaluate each the research question utilizing a Likert scale of 1 to 5, with one being poor and 5 being exceptional.

Instructions: All pages are 12-font. The cover page has the writer’s name, course number, instructor, and date. On the second page, put the question you are addressing in bold, and center it, at the top of the page. The rest of the paper is not in bold nor is it centered.

1. For each research question, support your answers with quotes or summaries from at least two journals, less than 5 years old .

2. One journal must be a nursing journal; the others can be a business, medicine, or other journal. Do not use blogs or Editorials.

3. Use different sources for the two research questions – do not reuse the same sources.

4. Summarize in two to three sentences the answer to the question at the end of the text before the references so that the reader easily understands the point of the paper.

5. For each question, use at least two pages, double spaced. Use two or more references for each question at place at the end of the question NOT at the end of the paper. Use correct APA in referencing the journals at the end of each of the research questions. Remember:

· Correct APA for summarizing a reference is: the author and year in parenthesis, i.e., (Jones, 2021).

· Correct APA for quoting a reference: “quotation marks” followed by (parenthesis, author, year, and page number), i.e. (Jones, 2020, p. 10)
