Explain why a plumbline could be useful

This session’s activity is:
Conduct a postural self-assessment. To complete this effectively, you’ll need a friend to photograph you standing face forward, side on (left), side on (right) and from the back. It is best if you stand in front of a plain/blank wall. You may choose to hang a plumb line (in the locations shown in the lecture notes). If you have not hung a plumb line, transfer your photos to your computer and electronically add one.
Analyse your pictures, complete the postural assessment form and contribute to the forum using the discussion topics below.
This session’s questions are:
Choose two of the below points to discuss
• How did the activity go: Did the postural analysis tell you anything new that you didn’t know about yourself?
• Explain why a plumbline could be useful
• Some practitioners take photos of their clients (in the same way as above) to show the clients what they look like. Explain the potential reasoning behind this.
Why would a therapist conduct a postural assessment?
