What level of knowledge is needed to understand the language used in the theory
Can a nursing student understand the language used in the theory?

Some theory evaluation models are quite complicated but this one is a straight forward, simple one that I think is appropriate for the level you are at. So, use these criteria when evaluating your theory for the paper.
Instructions for Critique Paper: The paper is to be written in APA 6th ed format. Please use the suggested headings. A properly formatted title and reference page are also required. Be sure to include an introductory paragraph explaining why you chose to critique the theorist you selected. This paper should be no longer than 900-1000 pages (excluding the title and reference page.).

 The meaning of the theory is clear and understandable.

The reason for developing the theory is clear
Why was the theory developed?

Was there any special influence(s) that lead to the development of the theory?

What about the theory is clear?
Identify parts of the theory that are clear in meaning and are understandable

 Boundaries of the theory are consistent with nursing practice.

Does the definition of nursing in the theory fit with other acceptable definitions of nursing
How is it similar or different from other theories?- Provide one example of how it is similar to another theory and also one example how it is different from another theory

What aspects of nursing are addressed within the structure of the theory?
How is nursing discussed, used, defined?

Does the theory differentiate between nursing and other disciplines?
Do you think this theory can be used in another discipline? Why or why not….explain.

Where does nursing take place?
What is the “setting” of nursing? Home, acute care, community? explain

 Language is understandable and includes minimum jargon.
