Assignment 3: Classroom Lesson Plan (20 points)In this assignment, students will design learning experiences for the classroom learning environment which may be in an academic or healthcare setting.There will be 30 students in the course who have a variety of backgrounds. All materials need for this assignment are located in Weekly Guide Week 3,under Assignments 3 and 4 Materials, a sample lesson plan, lesson plan table template, and Lesson Plan Assignment Directions. Before beginningstudents should listen to Lesson Plan Assignment Directions for additional information. Students will develop a table that demonstrates the relationshipbetween objectives, instructional strategies, assignments and activities in the classroom environment. See the Sample Learning Experience table in WeeklyGuide Week 3. Only complete the portion of the table that pertains to this assignment. The clinical portion will be completed in Assignment 4.In addition, in a scholarly paper, the student will describe the instructional strategies and learning activities selected, and include the rationale for selectionand the learning styles met with these activities.Students should select a topic in their area of clinical expertise and they will design a 5 hour class for the selected topic (Allow a 10 minute break for eachhour of instruction. The class design section should the elements described in the Table Design (Part 1). Clinical lab hours and clinical hours will be addedto the table in Assignment 4Assignment CriteriaStudents will create a classroom lesson plan and place the following information in the appropriate columns of the Lesson Plan template:1. Write at least 2 objectives for the class and label each objective according to Bloom’s Taxonomy domain and the associated level.2. Design two pre-class activities.3. Develop a brief outline of the class topics.4. List at least two instructional strategies to be used for the class.5. Design an in-class learning activity.6. Develop a classroom assessment for the class.7. Indicate the allotted time for class element, and place in parentheses next to each element.8. APA format is required (attention to spelling/grammar, and a title page). For the table, a 10 or 12 point font maybe used for the table.9. Use Landscape page layout for the table10. Submit in the Assignment Drop Box on the due date and time. Do not submit to Turnitin.Part 2: Scholarly PaperWrite scholarly paper based on the information in the table created for Part 1. Include the following criteria:1. Write a detailed description of the instructional strategies selected in Part 1.a. Describe the rationale for selection.b. Explain how each instructional strategy will be used for different parts of the class.c. Describe the learning styles met with each strategy employed.d. Describe at least one research study that provides evidence for the effectiveness of this strategy.2. Write a detailed description of a learning activity to be used in the class.a. Write the paper in third person, not first person (meaning do not use ‘we’ or ‘I’) and in a scholarly manner. To clarify: I, we, you, me, our may not be used.In addition, describing yourself as the researcher or the author should not be used.8. Include a minimum of three (3) professional peer-reviewed scholarly journal references to support the paper (review in Ulrich Periodical Directory) and beless than five (5) years old.9.
